Fall 2026 Annual Appeal
Hospice began with a simple idea: people approaching the end of life deserve comfort, dignity, compassion, and support, and families should not have to face that journey alone.
Nearly 50 years ago, that belief inspired nurse Rose Crumb to create Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County. A great deal has changed since then. Hospice has grown into a major healthcare industry. But at VHOCC, the heart of hospice has remained the same.
We remain independent, nonprofit, community-funded, and deeply rooted in Clallam County. We do not bill Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Because people like you fund our work, our focus remains where it belongs: caring for our neighbors.
That means skilled nurses and aides providing compassionate care at home. A reassuring voice available 24/7. Medical equipment and supplies provided at no cost. Support for exhausted caregivers. And someone beside a family when things feel overwhelming.
A family described finding VHOCC amid "confusion, doubt, fear, exhaustion" as discovering an island of reassurance: "we got this, we got you, and it's ok." Another told us, "Having the team with us made all the difference in the world."
Those words belong to our community. And so does VHOCC.
Your gifts put nurses and aides at bedsides, provide equipment and supplies, support caregivers, offer grief support, and ensure that help is there when a family needs it. Your gifts keep hospice what it was always meant to be: neighbors caring for neighbors at one of life's most vulnerable moments.
Please make a gift to VHOCC today. Together, we can keep this extraordinary model of independent, community-supported hospice care strong and available to everyone who needs us.
Give today and be part of a different kind of care:
